We have been coming to Barking Mad since Olly was 12 weeks old and he is now 5. Olly enjoys all the different activities and there are always new and exciting activities for him to do each week, even after 5 years. The location and set up is brilliant with lots of space and equipment. All the staff are friendly and clearly love what they do. We’ve always found Donna T, our instructor, to be most helpful and knowledgeable when training Olly. She always finds a way to get round any problems. I would definitely recommend Barking Mad.

Love this place. Always feel welcome and my dog and I have come a long way since we’ve been going since she was 16 weeks old. She’ll be 2 in May. Always learning new things, despite the weather our trainer is there come rain or shine and also at the end of the phone if we have any concerns over some behavioural issues we experience from time to time. Good variety of exercises and classes to choose from and excellent value for money.

Been coming here for over a year with our puppy attending Donna's classes. The change in our boy has been amazing. Staff are friendly and can tell they love what they do. We also do daycare and the boy looks forward to it every week!

Despite growing up with dogs I was aware that it was a bold choice to get a working breed as my first dog and that I needed help! We have attended classes from 16 weeks and the instruction and advice from everyone at BMDTS has been invaluable. I have become friends with the other dog owners in my class, catching up during the post lesson cup of tea and chat, and we are able to message via a group chat for advice in between classes. Plus helpful hints and tips are circulated at key times of year such as toxic foods at Christmastime and indoor activities to entertain a dog when too hot for walks in the summertime. There are also specialist classes, of which we attend the gundog training. This is great fun and has helped reinforce the regular lessons, particularly with recall and retrieving. An incident when she was very young left my dog slightly scared of water. A few lessons in the Barking Mad pool and she is now the first to run into any body of water and be comfortable swimming, no matter the depth. In addition to classes, my dog has gone to day training on a weekly basis to socialise with other dogs and to get used to being handled by other people, so that she doesn’t become too dependent on me as an individual. As a result, I now have a well behaved and confident 3 year old dog, who is welcomed when visiting friends and family and is yet to meet another dog or a child that she doesn’t want to be friends with. Plus a new group of friends.

Although this is not our first rodeo owning a pup we realised how naive we were first time round so puppy training was to become our main highlight of a Saturday morning. Welcomed with open arms and puppy paws to the initial 10 week classes back in the summer we were guided step by step by the amazing Shauna where no questions was too small or silly and helped us so much growing confidence. A WhatsApp group was set up for a support network with the other new owners. ( it’s comforting knowing we were are going through similar issues) As well as learning from the basic training with a brilliant thought out session to meet the pups (and human) needs, it grew as we grew. 8 months on we are in the older dog class with Donna who greeted us the the same enthusiasm and patience and we would not know where we would be without the training! We also take Ivy to doggie day care one afternoon a week which is with instructors that know her, she is well loved and just has the most amazing time socialising with all different breeds and ages of dogs. Thank you Barking Mad and especially to Shauna and Donna.

Fabulous doggy school! We attended puppy classes with our naughty little Pomeranian who didn’t have the best start / Integration to the world. Once we had finished puppy classes we went into the next class. Michelle was amazing! We will return with our next pup. Thank you all.

We joined Barking Mad after a neighbour recommended them to us, can honestly we haven’t met a nicer bunch of people, we’re always welcomed with a smile from our trainer (Chloe) and her family (& the others of course!) , our pup loves everyone and she’s not short of any cuddles when she goes to school, whether we’re worried about recall or have multiple questions there’s always someone to help and we couldn’t be more grateful. We started with 1-2-1 to classes and went on to the 10 week Puppy classes and is now currently working our pup on her Bronze. We cannot thank Barking Mad enough for all the support we have received and we continue to recommend them to friends/family/anyone looking for recommendations. Thank you Barking Mad and as always we’ll see you next week :)

Our Australian Labradoodle Puppy called Pickle has come a long way in such a short time since attending puppy classes! The difference has been amazing all credit to the training staff at the school. The classes are fun and Pickle enjoys all the tasks she is set and the ample treat rewards!! Happy pet, happy owner!

We joined Michele’s puppy class 7 months ago when our border terrier, Maggie was 12 weeks old. Michele is so friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable - the progress Maggie has made is incredible and we have learned so much along the way. Michele’s classes are always fun, positive and interesting - she has lots of strategies ready to help you adapt training exercises if you’re finding it a bit tricky or if you’re ready to make it more challenging. We really appreciate spending quality time with Maggie in our classes and it has been lovely getting to know our classmates too - especially as we can sit and have a coffee together after class. We couldn’t recommend Michele or Barking Mad more highly to anyone looking for dog training classes - the atmosphere is very welcoming, and all of the owners and staff we have met have been so kind and friendly to us.

Teddy is now 2 years old, and we've been coming to weekly classes, from the 10 week puppy course through to regular weekly obedience classes since he was 3.5 months old. As first time dog owners, we've learned so much about our dog and have also had a couple of one-to-one sessions to help with particular issues. All the instructors are friendly and supportive, and our Teddy loves coming here every week. This is a purely positive reinforcement training environment. We've also taken part in the 4-week Search course which Teddy really loved, and the 6 week Tricks class has given us loads of fun party tricks to show off, and to work on on those rainy days where he doesn't want to go for a walk! One of my favourite things is the 30 minutes after class where you sit and have a drink with your instructor and classmates to help teach the dogs to settle, but also to have a chat about dog life. It's a real community at Barking Mad.
